Item 1. The Financial Report for the month of February 1977 was
presented by City Treasurer James Malone.
PUBLIC COf"1f-1ENT:
Harold Rust of 6535 Liard Rd., Arvada, representing Public Service
Company presented a check to the City in the amount of ~76,763.18
for the first quarter, 1977 and underestimate of 4th quarter,
Franchise Tax. He also presented a list of the amount of Franchise
Tax paid the City for the years 1970 through 1976 and first quarter
1977.
Item 2. Mayor Stites read the Resolution Commending DECA/Jefferson
Senior High School and presented it to the Principal, Distributive
Education teacher and representatives of DECA of Jefferson High
School.
Item 3. Application by Planning Commission, City of Wheat Ridge,
for a change in zoning for a portion of property located at W. 32nd
Ave./ui. 35th Ave., between Garrison and Estes Streets from R-2 to
R-1-A. (Part II includes Lee's Lake Subdivision, South 180 feet
of Wide Horizons prf1perty, and unplatted land lllest of Estes St., south
af 35th Ave.) Case ~WZ-75-26. Presented by Mr. Shelley. Exclusions
in this part arE Lot 6 - a t~JO family dwelling, Lot 7 _ Ollmer is
r[itisfied lllith present zoning; Lot 8 - is a two-family dllJelling; Lot 4 _
recommended by Planning Commission, owners have no preference, Key 52 _
is a double, l'1ey 56 - owner asked for exclusion, no reason given.
Wide Horizons people requested to be included in the rezoning. All
property f1wners were notified by Certified Mail of the proposed
rezoning. Mr. Fox was asked if on this type f1f Mass Rezoning, if
the area is rezoned to R-lA and Sf1merJne dicides they did not want
it, is there a time limit under which they could go back to the old
zf1ning. Mr. Fox said that not unless they perfected an appeal in
District Court within 30 days. Motion by Councilman Cavarra "I

Arvada has an Urban SYStE8S Grant for North '1f 1-70 to Rulston. These

Item 12. City Council recommendations concerning Jefferson County
branch library in Central Wheat Ridge. Discussion of pOSSible recommenda-
tilns included leasing space in Time Square, holding the Police Building
in reserve far a Library and having the County build a Library far
Wheat Ridge. Motion by Councilman Turner "I move that we recommend
they investicaiE the Cook property on 38th Avenue, West of Wadsworth."

water will be brought to the Study Session, April 4.
