RESOLUTION NO. 1128
Series of 1988
TITLE: A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING RESERVATIONS CONCERNING AND OPPOSITION
To RECOMMENDATION NO.6 IN THE REPURT OF THE CULORADO
TRANSPORTATION ROUNDTABLE TO THE HLRC.
WHEREAS the Wheat Ridge City Council has reviewed the 11/14/88
draft of the Report of the Colorado Transportation Roundtable to the
HLRC;
WHEREAS the Wheat Ridge City Council appreciates and applauds
the efforts of the Colorado Transportation Roundtable in considering
numerous options to address the pressing and critical highway and
transportation issues facing the State of Colorado;
WHEREAS the Wheat Ridge City Council, in reviewing said draft
report, considers Recommendation No.6 thereof, which recommends
consolidation of existing metro Denver transportation agencies under a
Metropolitan Transportation Commission, to be flawed and to be not in
the best interest of the City of Wheat Ridge and its residents,
specifically based upon the limited representation available to urban
entities, which representation is not deemed by the Wheat Ridge City
Council to provide continuous and guaranteed adequate input from and
protection to Wheat Ridge and other cities of similar size.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Wheat Ridge, Colorado as follows:
The Wheat Ridge City Council states its opposition to
Recommendation No.6 in the report of the Colorado Transportation
Roundtable, and the concept of a Metropolitan Transportation Commission,
unless all cities under the jurisdiction of the commission have at least
1 representative on the commission.
DONE AND RESOLVED this 12th day of December, 1988.
