RESOLUTION NO. 1134

TITLE: RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION FOR WHEAT RIDGE FIRE
PROTECTION DISTRICT VOLUNTEERS
WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District was
organized and staffed with volunteers in 1926, and has since that
time provided fire protection services and seventeen years of
emergency medical treatment to the citizens of Wheat Ridge; and
WHEREAS, the volunteers have faithfully performed these
outstanding humanitarian services to the citizens of Wheat Ridge
and through the years have been a definite influence for good in
our community; and
WHEREAS, a partial list of achievements would include:
the replacement/modification of all pumper units to comply with
modern specifications; the addition of a one hundred (100) foot
aerial ladder truck; the operation of a "free of charge"
Emergency Medical Service for seventeen years and the training of
personnel as Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics,
providing the community with countless hours of "above and beyond
the call of duty" service in helping our citizens in times of
community emergencies. The Wheat Ridge fire Department
maintains the highest state I.S.O. rating of "4".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that on behalf of our City
government, the Wheat Ridge Police Department, and all of our
citizens, our deep appreciation is extended to the staff and
supporters of this organization for their unselfish dedication to
the welfare of all our people during times of public emergency.
DONE AND RESOLVED THIS 23rd day of January, 1989.
