RESOLUTION NO. 1370

TITLE:
A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF A GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE
FEDERAL BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE POLICE HIRING
SUPPLEMENT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Wheat Ridge
recognizes the important of Community Policing programs and;
WHEREAS, there is a demonstrated need for additional
police personnel specifically assigned to the community Policing
programs and;
WHEREAS, added police personnel represent a high priority
for the community and;
WHEREAS, the City Council is committed to maintaining
Community Policing programs and staffing levels within the fiscal
limitations of this City.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
city of Wheat Ridge, that
The City Council supports and endorses a grant
application to the Bureau of Justice for funding through the Police
Hiring Supplement Program to hire police personnel dedicated
specifically to police patrol operations and community policing
endeavors.
