HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution-1994-1389 RESOLUTION NO. 1389 Series of 1994 TITLE: A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING CERTAIN FEES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS AS SPECIFIEO IN ORDINANCE NO, 952 WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge City Council has duly enacted Ordinance No. 952, which establishes certain licensing requirements and regulations for pawn broking businesses within the City of Wheat Ridge for the purpose of protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Wheat Ridge in conjunction with State regulations; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 952 requires that certain fees and bond amounts be specified by resolution of the city Council; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Wheat Ridge City Council that the following fees and bonding requirements are established pursuant to the requirements of Ordinance No. 952. 1. Pursuant to section 11-172 of Ordinance No. 952 , there is hereby established a non-refundable license application fee of $500. 2. Pursuant to section 11-173 of Ordinance No. 952, there is hereby established a pawnbroking license fee of $5,000 per license, $2,500 to be collected on April 1, 1994, and $2,500 to be collected on October 1, 1994. 3. Pursuant to section 11-176 of Ordinance No. 952, there is hereby established a $10,000 bond for pawnbroking businesses. 4. Pursuant to Section 11-182(B) of Ordinance No. 952, there is hereby established a $250 fee to amend a pawnbroking license to reflect a change of owner, officer, director or manager, as specified in section 11-182. 5. A. Pursuant to section 11-183(L) of Ordinance No. 952, there is hereby established a fee of $.60 per transaction form generated in each pawnbroking business licensed pursuant to Ordinance No. 952. B. The Chief of Police is granted the authority to reduce the $.60 per transaction form fee specified in 5. A. above for any cost saving measures which are implemented by the City of Wheat Ridge and which are developed at the sole expense of a pawnbroking business duly licensed in the City of Wheat Ridge. The decision to implement cost saving measures related to the transaction form is in the sole discretion of the Chief of Police. It is the intent of this sub-section to encourage pawnbroking businesses in the City of Wheat Ridge to identify and/or develop measures to reduce the amount of time or expense incurred by the city of Wheat Ridge in processing information which is required by the state of Colorado or by Ordinance No. 952.
