CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO
RESOLUTION NO. 55
Series of 1999
TITLE:
A RESOLUTION SUBMITTING A BALLOT QUESTION TO THE
REGISTERED ELECTORS OF THE CITY, CONCERNING RETENTION
AND EXPENDITURE OF $477,313.00.
WHEREAS, during calendar year 1998 the City received revenues in the
amount of $477,313 above the revenue limitation imposed upon the City by virtue
of Article X, Section 20 of the Colorado Constitution; and
WHEREAS, Article X, Section 20 of the Colorado Constitution permits local
districts such as the City to request of the voters that it be permitted to retain and
spend such excess revenues;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Wheat Ridge City Council, that:
Pursuant to the authority vested in it by Colorado Constitution Article X,
Section 20(3) and Section 31-11-111 (2), C.R.S., the City Council hereby submits
and refers the following ballot question to the registered electors of the City at the
November 2, 1999 general election:
BALLOT QUESTION NO 2
SHALL THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO, BE
AUTHORIZED TO RETAIN $477,313 IN 1998 REVENUES,
WHICH AMOUNT IS IN EXCESS OF THE REVENUE LIMITATION
IMPOSED BY COLORADO CONSTITUTION ARTICLE X,
SECTION 20(8) AND SHALL THE CITY BE AUTHORIZED TO
SPEND SUCH AMOUNT FOR ACQUISITION AND
MAINTENANCE OF OPEN SPACE, NOTWITHSTANDING ANY
REVENUE, SPENDING, OR OTHER LIMITATION CONTAINED IN
COLORADO CONSTITUTION, ARTICLE X, SECTION 20?
This Resolution shall be effective on September 7, 1999.
DONE AND RESOLVED this 26th day of August, 1999.
