RESOLUTION NO 47-2000
Series of 2000
TITLE: A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BRONZE SCULPTURE "SHE AIN'T HEAVY"
BY WALT HORTON, WHICH HAS BEEN DONATED BY AN ANONYMOUS
DONOR FOR THE WHEAT RIDGE RECREATION CENTER
WHEREAS, the Arts Council of Wheat Ridge sponsored a Gala Opening at the Wheat
RIdge RecreatlOn Center in February, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Gala was to raise funds for art at the Wheat RIdge
RecreatIon Center; and
WHEREAS, an anonymous donor donated the bronze sculpture "She Ain't Heavy" by
Walt Horton for the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center; and
WHEREAS, the Art Council of Wheat Ridge also raised enough funds to construct the
base for the statue.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT'
1 The City of Wheat RIdge accepts the statute with gratItude from the anonymous donor,
the Arts Council of Wheat Ridge, and all other donors for art at the Wheat Ridge Recreation
Center
2. The bronze sculpture" She Ain't Heavy" shall be placed at the Whea t Ridge
Recreation Center.
