TITLE:
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2006
GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO REFLECT THE
APPROVAL OF A SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET
APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000.00 FOR
THE PURPOSE OF ABATEMENTS OF BUILDING CODE
VIOLATIONS
WHEREAS, the 2006 Budget does not provide funding for the abatements of
bUlldmg code violations, and
WHEREAS, most vlOlatJons that reach the stage of abatement mvolve life safety
issues and m some cases the offending property becomes viewed as a neighborhood
nuisance, and
WHEREAS, this request will assist staff in addressing City CouncIl's goal of
providmg better quality housing stock by actively enforcing the City's codes; and
WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge Charter requires that amendments to the budget be
effected by the City Council adoptmg a Resolution,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Wheat Ridge, Colorado, as follows:
The following amendment to the 2006 General Fund Budget IS hereby approved:
(a) A supplemental budget appropriation from General Fund undesignated reserves
in the amount of $5,00000 to account #01-122-700-718 for the purpose of
abatements of building code violations.
This resolution shall be effective Immediately upon adoption.
DONE AND RESOLVED THIS DAY MAY 22, 2006.
