The April 30, 1979 City Council Meeting was convened by Mayor Pro Tem
Joseph Donaldson at 7 30 p m Council Members present Mary Jo Cavarra,
Anthony N Flasco, Gary L Lewman, Louise F Turner and Ray C Pepe
Also present City Clerk Carol F Hampf, City Treasurer James Malone,
City Administrator John A Jerman, City Attorney Edmund G Lambert,
Department Heads Richard H Bredt, Douglas Hilyard, Clyde Hobbs,
Chief Ed Pinson, and Charles Stromberg, staff, and interested citizens

Item 1 Consideration of Award of Bid, Colorado Department of Highways,
W 32nd Avenue Bikeway/Pathway (Material distributed earlier)
Mr Jerman explained that the bids had been opened Friday, April 26,
and the total estimated construction cost is $128,512 85, also that the
Federal funds had been increased from $90,000 to $105,000 MOTION by
Council Member Pepe "I move that the City aDprove and authorize the
award of bid to the low bidder as recommended by the Colorado Department
of Highways for the W 32nd Avenue Bike/Pedestrian Pathway project from
Miller to Parfet Street as stated in a letter from Mr Richard Brasher,
District Engineer, dated April 27, 1979, in which the total cost of
the project is estimated at $128,512 85, and authorizing City matching
funds in the project of $23,512 85 with the balance of $105,000 to be
paid from Federal funds, and that the City's expenditure be charged to
Account 31-504-856 (31-402)", seconded by Council Member Lewman
MOTION TO AMEND by Council Member Flasco "I move to amend the Motion
so that any savings resulting from the contingency fund or any other
thing be credited to the City's portion of this appropriation", seconded
by Council Member Cavarra, Motion to Amend failed 3-3, with Council
Members Pepe, Cavarra and Donaldson voting no, stating that they felt
this amendment would put the Grant in jeopardy Original Motion carried
5-1, with Council Member Flasco voting no
Meeting was adjourned to the Study Session at 7 45 p m
