HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2009-0001CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO RESOLUTION 01 Series of 2009 TITLE: A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2008 GENERAL FUND BUDGET AND APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $169082.99 FOR COSTS AND EXPENSES RELATED TO THE CONDUCT OF THE NOVEMBER 4TH, 2008 COORDINATED ELECTION. WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge conducts all Special and Municipal Elections that fall on the date of a General Election as a Coordinated Election with the County of Jefferson, Colorado; and WHEREAS, the November 0, 2008 General Election was the most costly election in the history of Jefferson County; and WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge is responsible for payment to the Jefferson County Elections Department for its pro rata share of the additional expenses incurred by Jefferson County for the conduct of such coordinated election according to the IGA entered into by the City of Wheat Ridge and Jefferson County, Colorado; and WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge has received from the Jefferson County Elections Department Invoice 29643 in the amount of $1,926.72 for TABOR Notice expenses and Invoice 29644 in the amount of $27,553.77 for general election costs, resulting in a total of $29,480.49, all such costs and expenses being required in connection with the City's participation in the November 4 h, 2008 coordinated election; and WHEREAS, a total amount of $13,397.50 remains in the 2008 City of Wheat Ridge Approved Budget for Election Expenses, account number 01-108-700-708; and WHEREAS, an additional appropriation of $16,082.99 is needed to the 2008 Election Expenses Budget, account number 01-108-700-708 to pay invoices 29643 and 29644 to the County of Jefferson, Colorado. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, as follows: A. The City of Wheat Ridge fiscal year 2008 General Fund Budget is hereby amended by the transfer of $16,082.99 from General Fund unreserved fund balance into account #01-108-700-708, and the resulting total of $29,480.49 in said account is hereby appropriated for the purposes of payment of invoices Nos. 29643 and 29644 to Jefferson County, Colorado DONE AND RESOLVED THIS day of January, 2009.
