Appointment to Planning commission (replacing Cal Jenks who
has resigned)
Chris Parke, 3250 Flower Street, gob ~~on~les, 3363 Vivian Drive, and
Barbara Brockman, 11715 ~ 33rd place, presented a statement with 31
signaturesaffirming support ot the Councilmemuers from District III,
asking that their judgement be respected in regards to appointments
Concern was also raised that the Commission appointment had not been
advertised Mr Aiello, chairman of the Lommunity Development
Improvement Screening Committee, said that the committee had recommended
appointment of viII Burt and did not feel the need for advertisements
since they had an applicant they ''lished to appoint, and moved for the
appointment of Will Burt to the Planning Commission; seconded by Mr
Davis; carried 5-2, with Mrs Cavarra and ~rs Turner voting No Mrs
Cavarra stating that she had nothing against Will Burt, but felt that
the position should have been advertised Mrs Turner stated that she
concurred
Failed Motion by Mrs Cavarra to Table the appointment until 2 weeks
after it had been advertised; seconded by Mrs rurner; Failed 2-5, with
Councilmembers Aiello, Davis, Lewis, Merkl, and Ore, voting No
l1eeting was adjourned at 11 00 P m
