CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE. COLORADO
The City Council Meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 7 30 p m
Councilmembers present Pat Aiello, Will Burt, Kent Davis, Ken Lewis,
Larry Merkl, and Kay Ore Clyde Hobbs arrived at 7 55 p m Also
present City Clerk, Carol Hampf; City Administrator, Tom Palmer;
Department Heads Chief Jaquay and ROdger Young, staff, and interested
citizens
Motion by Mr Davis for the approval of the Minutes of December 13,
1982; seconded by Mr Aiello; carried 5-1 with Mr Lewis voting No
No one was present to speak under citizens' comments

Resolution 826 - Supplementing Resolutions 731, 747,
and 800, extending the expiration date for Ridge
Village Shopping Center Bonds

Acceptance of Deed from Ridge Village Partnership for
Right-of-Way purposes
James M. Sullivan, representing Ridge Village Partnerships, 1624 Market
Street, was present to answer questions
A Motion by Mr Merkl for the approval of Resolution 826, seconded by
Mr Davis, carried 5-1 with Mr Lewis voting No
B Motion by Mr Merkl for the acceptance of the deed from Ridge
Village Partnership for right-of-way purposes, seconded by Mr Burt;

Item 2.
Council Bill 45 (on first reading) - An Ordinance amending
Section 27 of Appendix A, Regulations applying to all
districts, by adding Section 27 H, Emergency Shelters Operated
by Churches, of the Code of Laws of the City of Wheat Ridge,
Colorado
Council Bill was introduced on first reading by Mrs Ore, title read by
the Clerk Motion by Mrs Ore that Council Bill 45 be approved on first
reading, that public hearing be set for January 24, 1983, and that this
proposed ordinance be referred to the Planning Commission for their
consideration on January 6, 1983; seconded by Mr Merkl, carried 5-1
with Mr Aiello voting No

A Award of Bid for construction of Harlan Drainage
Project, Schedule II
B Award of Bid for replacement tank for asphalt
distributor
C Purchase of Wing Lynch Film Processor for Police
Department
Motion by Mr Aiello for the adoption of the Consent Agenda in its
entirety; seconded by Mrs Ore Mr Lewis asked that Item B be taken
out Items A and C carried 6-0 Item B carried 5-1 with Mr Lewis
voting No
ELECTED OFFICIALS MATTERS
Council congratulated Public Works and Police Department on their
efforts during the snow storm and discussed various aspects of the
storm
Mr. Merkl asked that a plan be drawn up to place street lights
throughout the City since light is a deterrent to burglary
CITY ADMINISTRATOR SMATTERS
Mr. Palmer called attention to a letter from Arvada, requesting Wheat
Ridge officials to join them at 5 30 pm, January 10, to discuss the
water distribution problem (Wheat Ridge Water and Sanitation
District)
