CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO
REGULAR MEETING AND STUDY SESSION
The City Council Regular Meeting was called to order by the Mayor at
7 30 p m Councilmembers present Kent Davis, Larry Merkl, Moe Keller,
Tony FIasco, Nancy Snow, Randy West, and Dan Wilde Clyde Hobbs arrived
at 7 32 p m Also present City Clerk, Wanda Sang; City Administrator,
Tom Palmer; Chief of Police, Howard Jaquay; Public Works Director,
Rodger Young; staff and interested citizens
PUBLIC HEARINGS AND ORDINANCES ON SECOND READING
Item I Council Bill 154- An Ordinance authorizing the issuance and
sale of $1,950,000 City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Industrial Development
Revenue Bonds (Pearse Electronics, Inc Project) Series 1984, to finance
a project for Pearse Electronics, Inc ; ratifying certain action
heretofore taken; authorizing the execution and delivery by the City of
a Financing Agreement, Indenture of Trust, such Bonds and Closing
Documents in connection therewith; making determinations as to the
sufficiency of revenues and as to other matters related to such project;
and repealing action heretofore taken in conflict therewith
Council Bill 154 was introduced on second reading by Mr West; title
read by the Clerk MOTION by Mr West for adoption of Council Bill 154
(ORDINANCE 592); seconded by Mr Wilde; carried 6-2 with Mr Hobbs and
Mr FIasco voting no
STUDY SESSION
Item 2
Discussion of Goals and Objectives for a Compensation Program
Council, Mr Palmer, and Chief Jaquay discussed an alternative to the
word 'parity' in the Pay ordinance No conclusion was reached by
Council
Item 3 Discussion of Financing Strategy and Projected Revenues for
Capital Improvements and Operation of a Stormwater Management System for
the City of Wheat Ridge
Mr Young discussed his alternatives with Council Jacque Wedding
discussed the current and proposed legislation on state tax Consensus
was 7-1, with Mr Merkl voting no, to take no action at this time
Consensus was 8-0 to cancel November 26 and December 24 meetings
