TITLE : A RESOLUTI ON AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2012 BUDGET
TO REFLECT THE APPROVAL O F A SUPPL EMENTAL BUDGET
APPROPRIATION FOR THE RE -APPROPRIATION AND RE -
ENCUMBRANCE OF 2011 FISCAL YEAR ENCUMBERED FUNDS
IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,301 ,803.33
WHEREAS, the City's independent audito r has recommended t h at the City
utilize generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for its budgeting basis which
requires all encumbrances to expire at year end ; and
WHEREAS, 50 open purchase orders from 2011 were closed on December
31 , 201 1;and
WHEREAS, to continue these projects in 2012 a supplemental budget
appropriation is necessary to t ransfer the funds from unreserved fund balances to
specific 2012 budget line items :
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the C i ty of
Wheat Ridge, Colorado, as follows :
A . The City of Wheat Ridge fiscal year 2012 Budget be amended
accordingly, specifically transferri ng a total of $1 ,301 ,803.33 from the following
unreserved fund balances to specific 2012 Budget line items as deta iled in the
attached spreadsheets :
General Fund
Cap ital Investment Fund
Open Space Fund
Police Investigation Fund
Conservation Trust Fund
Total
