A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2014 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO REFLECT THE APPROVAL OF A
SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF
$40 ,000 FOR THE REQUIRED MATCH FOR AN ENVIRONMENTAL
PROT ECTION AGENCY (EPA) BROWNFIELDS CLEAN-UP GRANT
WH EREAS , the City of Wheat Ridge , acti ng through its City Council entered into
an I ntergovernmental Agreement with the Wheat Ridge Urban Renewal Authority dba
Renewal Wheat R idge (RWR) for the purchase of property at 7690 W . 38 th Avenue and
3790 Yukon Court ; and
WHEREAS , the site contains underground soil and groundwater environmenta l
contamination of wh ich RWR desires to remediate ; and
WHEREAS , the site is an important property in an overall vision for
redevelopment of the southwest corner of 38 th and Wadsworth ; and
WHEREAS , RWR wishes to apply for an EPA Brownfields Clean-Up Grant in the
amount of $200 ,000 ; and
WHEREAS , a 20 % match is required for the granting of funds from the EPA in an
amount of $40,000 ; and
NOW, THERE FORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Wheat Ridg e,
Colo rado , as follow s:
A. The City Counci l authorizes the use of $40 ,000 from the General Fund
undesignated reserves for the expenditure from account number 01-105-700-720 and
amending the 2014 fiscal year budget accordingly.
