A RESOLU TI ON AMENDING T HE FI SCAL YEAR 2014 BUDGET
TO REFLECT THE APPROVAL OF A SUPPL EM ENTA L BUDGET
APPROPRIATION FOR THE RE -APPROPR IATION AND RE -
ENCUMBRANCE OF 2013 FISCAL YEAR ENCUMBERED FUNDS
IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,512 ,901 .27
WHEREAS , the City's independent auditor has recommended that the City
utilize generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for its budgeting basis which
requires all encumbrances to expire at year end ; and
WHEREAS, 57 open purchase orders from 2013 were closed on December
31 ,2013;and
WHEREAS, to continue these projects in 2014 a supplemental budget
appropriation is necessary to transfer the funds from unreserved fund balances to
specific 2014 budget line items:
NOW, TH EREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED by the Ci ty Council of the City o f
Wheat R i dge, Colorado, as f o llows:
A. The City of Wheat Ridge fiscal year 2014 Budget be amended
according ly , specifically transferring a total of $4,512 ,901 .27 from the following
unreserved fund balances to specific 2014 Budget line items as detailed in the
attached spreadsheets:
General Fund
Capital Investment Fund
Open Space Fund
Conservation Trust Fund
Total
