TITLE: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND SUPPORTING
SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR A LOCAL PARKS
AND OUTDOOR RECREATION GRANT FROM THE STATE
BOARD OF THE GREAT OUTDOORS COLORADO TRUST
FUND FOR THE RENOVATION OF PROSPECT PARK
PHASE II
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge supports the Great Outdoors Colorado
grant application for the renovation of Prospect Park and the completion of the project.
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge has requested $350,000 from Great
Outdoors Colorado to renovate the park according to the adopted Park Master Plan
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Wheat
Ridge, Colorado, that:
The City of Wheat Ridge strongly supports the grant application and has
appropriate matching funds for a grant with the Great Outdoors Colorado.
The City of Wheat Ridge hereby authorizes the expenditure of funds as
necessary to meet the terms and obligations of any grant awarded.
The project site is owned and operated by the City of Wheat Ridge and will be
owned by the City of Wheat Ridge for at least the next 25 years.
The City of Wheat Ridge will continue to maintain Prospect Park in a high quality
condition and will appropriate funds for maintenance in its annual operating budget.
The City of Wheat Ridge hereby authorizes the Mayor to sign the grant
agreement with Great Outdoors Colorado.
