TITLE: A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2021 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO REFLECT THE APPROVAL OF A SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $22,500 FOR THE FACILITATION OF THE
RACE AND EQUITY TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge Charter requires that amendments to the budget be effected by the City Council adopting a resolution; and
WHEREAS, City Council passed Resolution No. 35 in June 2020 as an important first step towards condemning racism and hate in all its forms in the City of Wheat
Ridge; and
WHEREAS, that resolution stated that it is incumbent on city leaders and community members to listen with open hearts and minds and to take informed, meaningful actions in fighting for racial justice; and
WHEREAS, the Council has created and appointed a Race and Equity Task Force to review City of Wheat Ridge policies and services that may contribute to discrimination; and
WHEREAS, staff has identified a single source vendor to facilitate the first four months of the Race and Equity Task Force; and
WHEREAS, insufficient appropriations in the 2021 Budget exist to cover these expenditures.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Wheat Ridge City Council, that:
Section 1. A transfer of $22,500 is hereby approved from the General Fund undesignated reserves to account 01-106-700-750.
DONE AND RESOLVED this 22nd day of February, 2021.
