HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 56, 2021 CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 56 Series of 2021 TITLE: A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2021 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO REFLECT THE APPROVAL OF A SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $187,402 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING AND INSTALLING AN OUTDOOR FITNESS COURT WHEREAS, the City received a $30,000 grant from the National Fitness Campaign and Colorado Parks and Recreation Association for an outdoor fitness court; and WHEREAS, the outdoor fitness court would provide an outdoor, free-of-charge amenity for community members to exercise safely during the pandemic and beyond; and WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge received American Rescue Plan Act funds to be used for the purpose of responding to the pandemic and its negative economic impacts; and WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge Parks and Recreation Master Plan calls for a balanced and equitable park and recreation system responsive to all age groups and user groups; and WHEREAS, Panorama Park was specifically identified as an ideal location as it is in a different geographic area in the City from other public fitness opportunities, is in an area of Wheat Ridge with a higher population density and lower median income, and is near various traffic routes; and WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge Charter requires that amendments to the budget be effected by the City Council adopting a resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Wheat Ridge City Council, that: Section 1. A supplemental budget appropriation of $187,402 is hereby approved to be transferred from General Fund undesignated reserves to account 01-610- 700-777 and that revenues are amended accordingly.
