RESOLUTION NO. 22

TITLE: A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2023
GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO REFLECT THE APPROVAL
OF A SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET APPROPRIATION IN THE
AMOUNT OF $125,379.19 FOR THE PURPOSE OF
AWARDING A CONTRACT TO HDR ENGINEERING, INC.
FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES TO CREATE AND
IMPLEMENT A COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND
ENGAGEMENT STRATEGY REGARDING RESIDENTIAL
WASTE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES IN WHEAT RIDGE
WHEREAS, based on Council direction, staff presented an overview of the
existing waste management system in Wheat Ridge and various organized waste
strategies for Council’s consideration and direction in April 2022; and
WHEREAS, at that time, Council directed staff to conduct a solicitation process
to secure a consultant to create and implement a community outreach and engagement
strategy regarding residential waste management practices to better understand what
Wheat Ridge residents would like to see regarding waste management options within
the City; and
WHEREAS, staff conducted a solicitation process and has selected a vendor to
provide the aforementioned services; and
WHEREAS, insufficient appropriations in the 2023 Budget exist to cover these
expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge Charter requires that amendments to the budget
be effected by the City Council adopting a resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Wheat Ridge City Council, that:
Section 1. A transfer of $125,379.19 is hereby approved from the General
Fund undesignated reserves to account 01-114-700-750.
Section 2. A contract in the amount of $125,379.19 with HDR Engineering,
Inc. is approved.
DONE AND RESOLVED this 24th day of April 2023.
