ORDINANCE NO. 73
Series of 1970
TITLE. AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1971, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1971.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE,
COLORADO, THAT:
Section 1. There is hereby appropriated out of the
revenue of the City of Wheat Ridge for the fiscal year beginning
January 1, 1971, and ending December 31, 1971, the sum of $1,585,717.00
to be raised by taxation and otherwise, which sum is appropriated for
the following purposes, to wit:
General Government . . . . $1,585,717.00
Total . . . . . . . . . . $1,585,717.00
Section 2. For the purposes of providing funds for
meeting the appropriation set forth in Section 1 of this Ordinance,
a levy will be assessed against all property within the City for
General Government.
Section 3. By Resolution No. 88 , the City Council of
the City of Wheat Ridge adopted a budget setting forth the sum of
$1,585,717.00 as the amount to be received as revenue and spent for
general government operation during 1971.
Section 4. Emergency Clause. The provisions of this
ordinance are necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
health, safety, and welfare of the City for the following reasons:
1. No ordinance has been passed appropriating funds and
provisions of the Colorado Revised Statutes, 1963 as amended, re-
quire said ordinance.
2. No appropriation ordinance has been previously passed
because the City completed incorporation August 20, 1969, and it
was not possible to pass and adopt an ordinance of this type prior
to this time.
Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall t81<e
effect and be in force five (5) days after publication following
final passage providing it shall have been passed by an affirmative
vote of three-fourths (3/4) of the members of the City Council;
otherwise said ordinance shall take effect-thirty (30) days after
publication following final passage.
