TITLE: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 64 OF THE CITY OF WHEAT
RIDGE, COLORADO, RELATING TO 1971 POSITIONS FOR THE CITY OF WHEAT
RIDGEr A PAY SCALE FOR THESE POSITIONS AND PROVIDING FOR PART-TIME,
TEMPORARY, OVERTIME, AND SPECIAL PAY BY ADOPTING NEW GRADES AND
MERIT STEPS, NEW POSITIONS AND GRADES, AND PROVIDING FOR CLERICAL
FEES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT
RIDGE, COLORADO, THAT:
Section 1. The following Articles and Sections of Ordin-
ance No. 64 of the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, be and hereby are
repealed: Section 1 Grade and Merit Steps: Section 2 Grading of
Non-Commissioned and Nan-Director positions for 1971; Section 3
Grading of Positions for Commissioned Personnel for 1971; Section
4 Director Pay and Section 6 Overtime Pay.
Section 2. The following new sections be and are hereby
enacted:

"Section 6. Ovettime Pay. Work in excess of 40 hours
per week, if authorized in advance by the department Director or
Officer for other than bona fide executive, administrative or pro-
fessional capacities, will be paid at the rate o-f-time and one-half
the hourly rate. Compensatory time will be used except in the event
of an emergency or unforeseeable circumstance` or when a fee is spec?
fically authorized for an assignment requiring duty in excess of the
normal 40-hour=work week. For balance of 1971_-authorized fees in=
clude:
Animal Warden $6.00
(per call)
Secretarial assignments for Council, Com-
missions_ of Committees $10.00
(per session)
Court Clerk Assignments.- $11.00
(per session)
Section 3. Emergency Clause.- -The provisions of this
Ordinance are necessary for the best..ineterest of the employees of
the City of Wheat Ridge that a cost of living increase be granted. -
Section 4. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect
and be in force five (5) days after publication-following final passage
provided it shall have been passed by an affirmative vote of three-
fourths (3/4) of the members of the City Council, otherwise, said
Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after publication following
final passage.
Section-5. This Ordinance shall be subject to Federal Guidelines
in Force.
