WHEAT RIDGE. A PAY SCALE FOR THESE POSITIONS AND PROVIDING FOR
PART-TIME, TEMPORARY= OVERTIME AND SPECIAL PAY.

Section 4. Promotions. No individual will experience a
loss of pay due to promotion but will be awarded a step in the new
grade insuring salary immediately above his salary at the time of
the promotion.
Section 5. Director Pay. Pay for Directors or Officers
is established as follows for 1972:

Section 6. Pay for Part-time and Temporary Work. Except
for Parks Caretaker Helpers, Recreation Helpers, and Public Works
Helpers,, maximum hourly rates per grade are as indicated in Sections
2 and 3.
Helpers will be paid: $1.60/Hour to $1.75/Hour for the
first year; $2.00/Hour for the second year; $2.25/Hour for the
third year; and $2.55/Hour for the fourth and subsequent years.
Recreational Leader and Instructor hourly rates will be estab-
lished by the Personnel Committee as needed.
Section 7. Overtime Pay. Work in excess of 40 hours per
week,, if authorized in advance by the Department Director or Officer
for non-executive, non-administrative or non-professional personnel
will be paid at the rate of time and one half the hourly rate. Com-
pensatory time will normally be used for all employees and when a
separate fee has been established by Section 8 overtime does not apply.
Overtime pay will be granted in lieu of compensatory time at the dis-
cretion of Department heads, subject to budgetary limitations.
Section 8. Fees. Fees for specific known requirements
when work is performed in excess of the normal 40 hours per week
are as follows:
Animal Warden calls during non-duty hours
.............$6.75 (per call)
Secretarial assignments for council, commissions
or committees $11.00 (per session)
Mandatory Court appearances when representing
the City and when off duty.
.............$11.00 (per session)
Court duties as Clerk $12.50 (per session)
Bailiff ...................$12.00 (per session)
Section 9. Administrative Authority. All hiring, pro-
motion, and other policies relating to City personnel will be as
provided by the Personnel Merit System of the City of Wheat Ridge,
or Civil Service rules, whichever is applicable.
Section 10. Eligibility. New grades and pay are effective
January 1, 1972, for all personnel. Except as otherwise provided,
eligibility for Proficiency Pay increases shall normally be on an
annual basis except new and upgraded employees who are appointed for
a six months' probationary period become eligible for a step increase
after six months if accepted as Regular employees and if recommended
by their Department Director or Officer and approved by the Mayor,

Sectian_11. Standby Duty. When-personnel are used on
standby duty at home but are not called during any 24-hour period,
they will he credited with two hours ❑f pay foreach 24 hours or

four hours per 48-hour period of.such standby duty, pay to be at
regular rates,_ If called while do standby, employees will be paid
at the overtime-rate and no credit will accrue for standby during
that period.
Section 12. Effective Date. This Ordinance-is-effective
Janyar 1, 1972.
Section 13. This Ordinance shall be subject to Federal
Guidelines in effect. -
