ORDINANCE NO. 192

TITLE: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 84, SERIES
OF 19711 RELATING TO THE LICENSING OF CONTRACTORS;
LICENSE AND PERMIT FEES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT
RIDGE, COLORADO THAT:
Section 1. The following articles in Section 2
of Ordinance No. 84 of the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado
be and are hereby amended as follows:
Article 3. Contractors' Licenses
Section 1-16 - The Exception to Paragraph B, Con-
tractor, shall be amended to read as follows:
"The public utility company's exception shall
remain as enacted, but shall be hereinafter
referred to as Subsection (a)."
Subsection (b), Electrical Contractors:
"Inasmuch as electrical licensing and the
examination of persons performing electrical
work is a matter of statewide concern, no
examination, certification, or licensing of
electrical contractors or any examination,
certification, licensing or registration of
master electricians, journeyman electricians,
or residential wiremen, apprentices, or trainees
who are licensed or certified u,dei Title 121
Article 23, Section III of the 1973 Colorado
Revised Statutes, as amended, shall be required
by the City of Wheat Ridge.
However, any electrical contractor excepted
from licensing requirements by this article
shall be required, as a condition of performing
services within the City of Wheat Ridge, to
register annually with the Community Develop-
ment Department, Building Inspection Division
of the City. Such registration shall require
an annual registration fee of $25.00."
Section 1-17 - Paragraph B of Section 1-17 shall be
amended to read as follows:
"License Required. Any contractor with the
exception of electrical contractors and public
utility companies listed as Exceptions in
Section 1-16 above, performing in a business
involving the construction, alteration, re-
modeling, repairing and equiping of buildings
or other structures or performing in the in-
stallation of underground utilities and con-
struction of roads and streets in the City on
all water sewer and storm drainage facilities
shall be licensed as a contractor as required
in this article."

Section 1-18 - Classification of Licenses. Shall
be amended in the following manner:
Subsection 6 of Paragraph A shall be
deleted and the remaining subsections
re-numbered appropriately to reflect
the deletion.
Section 1-19 - License Fees. Shall be amended in
the following manner:
Subsection6 of Paragraph C shall be
deleted and the remaining subsections
re-numbered appropriately to reflect the
deletion.
Section 2. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall
take effect and be in force thirty (30) days after publica-
tion following final passage.
