TITLE:
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTIONS 3., 4., AND 5. OF
ORDINANCE NUMBER 400, SERIES OF 1980 AND AMENDING
SECTION 5-77 OF THE CODE OF LAWS OF THE CITY OF WHEAT
RIDGE BY ADOPTING A NEW FEE SCHEDULE FOR ELECTRICAL
PERMITS AND ENACTING SECTIONS 5-81 AND 5-82 OF THE CODE
OF LAWS OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE,
COLORADO.
Section 1. Sections 3., 4., and 5. of Ordinance 400, Series of
1980 are hereby repealed in their entirety.
Section 2. Section 5-77 of the Code of Laws of the City of Wheat
Ridge is hereby amended by the addition of a new subsection (d)
as follows:
"(d) Electrical permit fees as governed by the State
Electrical Board,shall be as follows:
ALL FEES, except for inspection in mobile homes and
travel parks, shall be computed on the dollar value
of the electrical installation, including time and
material (total cost to the customer) and such fees
shall be computed as follows:
Not more than $300.00.........................$25.00
More than $300 but not more than $2,000........45.00
$2,001.00 to $25,000........$45.00 for 1st $2,000.00
plus $12.00 for each additional $1,000.0 or
fraction thereof to and including $25,000.00
$25,001 to $50,000....................$321.00 plus
$10.00 for each additional $1,000.00 or fraction
thereof to and including $50,000.00
$50,001.00 to $100,00000..............$571.00 for the
first $50,000.00 plus $9.00 for each additional
$1,000.00 or fraction thereof to and including
$100,000.00
$100,001.00 to $500,000.00...........$1,021.00 for
the first $100,000.00 plus $8.00 for each
additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof to and
including $500,000.00.
$500,001.00 to $1,000,000.00........$4,221.00 for the
first $500,000.00 plus $6.00 for each additional
$1,000.00 or fraction thereof to and including
$1,000,000.00.

Section 3. Section 5-S1 of the Code of Laws of the City of Wheat
Ridge is hereby enacted as follows:
Section 5-S1. Fees - Sign permit fees,
Wrecking permit fees.
Sign fees shall be $15.00 per sign (single
or double face). Wrecking permit fees shall
be $10.00 per address.
Section 4. Section 5-82 of the Code of Laws of the City of Wheat
Ridge, Colorado is hereby enacted as follows:
Section 5-82. Reinspection. Permit fees
provide for customary inspections only.
Where additional inspections are made neces-
sary by incomplete or faulty work or because
of incorrect address given or building locked
no fee shall be charged for the first rein-
spection. However, a fee of $10.00 shall be
charged for each additional reinspection.
This fee shall be paid by the holder of the
permit to the Building Inspection Division
before another inspection can be called for.
Section 5. Severability. If any part or parts of this ordinance
are for any reason held to be invalid, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
The City Council hereby declares that it would have passed this
ordinance and each part or parts thereof, irrespective of the
fact that anyone part or parts be declared invalid.
Section 6. Safety Clause The City Council hereby finds,
determines, and declares that this ordinance is promulgated under
the police power of the City of Wheat Ridge; that it is
promlulgated for the health, safety, and welfare of the public
and that this ordinance is necessary for the preservation of
health and safety for the protection of public convenience and
welfare. The City Council further determines that the ordinance
bears a rational relation to these objectives.
Section 7. This ordinance shall take effect 1 day after final
publication.

7 to 1 on this 26th day of October
1992; ordered published in full in a newspaper of general
circulation in the City of Wheat Ridge and Public Hearing and
consideration on final passage set for Monday, November 23
1992, at 7:30 o'clock p.m., at Council Chambers, 7500 West 29th
Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
READ, ADOPTED AND ORDERED PUBLISHED on second and final reading
by a vote of 7 to 0 this 2nd day of December
1992.
