TITLE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING EACH AND EVERY
REFERENCE IN THE CODE OF LAWS OF THE CITY OF
WHEAT RIDGE TO THE DEPARTMENT OR DIRECTOR OF
"PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT" OR "PLANNING AND
DEVELOPMENT" DEPARTMENT OR DIRECTOR TO
"COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT" DEPARTMENT OR
DIRECTOR.
WHEREAS, the City department generally responsible for zoning and land use
issues within the City is designated throughout the Code of Laws of the City of Wheat
Ridge ("Code of Laws") as the Department of Planning and Development, or the
Planning and Development Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that the name of the Planning and
Development Department or Department of Planning and Development should be
changed to the Community Development Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend all references within the Code of
Laws to the Department or Director of Planning and Development and Planning and
Development Department or Director to the Community Development Department or
Director
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE,
COLORADO
Section 1. Each and every reference in the Code of Laws to "Department of
Planning and Development" or "Planning and Development Department" shall be
changed to "Community Development Department"
Section 2. Each and every reference in the Code of Laws to "Director of
Planning and Development" or "Planning and Development Director" shall be changed
to "Community Development Director"
Section 3. Safety Clause The City Council hereby finds, determines, and
declares that this Ordinance is promulgated under the general police power of the City
of Wheat Ridge, that it is promulgated for the health, safety, and welfare of the public
and that this Ordinance is necessary for the preservation of health and safety and for
the protection of public convenience and welfare The City Council further determines
that the Ordinance bears a rational relation to the proper legislative object sought to be
attained

Section 4. Severability; ConflictinQ Ordinances Repealed If any section,
subsection or clause of this ordinance shall be deemed to be unconstitutional or
otherwise invalid, the validity of the remaining sections, subsections and clauses shall
not be affected thereby All other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed
Section 5. Effective Date This Ordinance shall take effect fifteen days after
final publication, as provided by Section 5 11 of the Charter.
