Series of 1970
WHEREAS> the City of Wheat Ridge was incorporated
August 20, 1959 but was largely built-up while an unincorporated
area of Jefferson County.
WHEREAS~ the area now known as the City of Wheat Ridge
has a rich historical background which preceded the City itself.
WHEREAS, there has been no single governmental entity to
represent all interests in the area during the pre-City period when
farming was started and ditches constructed~ after which farming
gave way to residential 1 commercial and industrial activity.
NOW1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT a City Historical
Committee of five members be establishedj members to have indefinite
terms> said Committee being empowered to organize itself to assemble
and guard historical data and to work with the City Planning
Commission and City Council on the establishment of a center for
Historical records.
