Saries of 1970
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado has been
awarded $81,092.96 in Federal grants under the Crime Control
and Sa fa Straet Acts, subject money generally to be expended
between May 1, 1970 and April 30, 1971 or sooner.
WHEREAS, this award of money could not reasonably
have been foreseen at the time of the adoption of the 1970
Budgat by the City.
WHEREAS, an emargancy therefore now exists raquiring
the budgeting and appropriation of this money to properly fund
the operation of this City's police department.
WHEREAS, the 1970 Budget, as adopted therefora does
not accurately forecast the expenditure of money or the receipt
of revenue by this City.
WHEREAS, the money has now baen officially awarded
to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the 1970 Budget
be amended by the addition of a contingency appropriation as
follows:
(a) That $54,146.92 (Fifty-four thousand one hundred
forty-six dollars and ninety-two cents) of the $81,092.96 in
Federal funds be added to 1970 income receipts for police
department expenditure as authorized by the grants.
(b) That the City's original budget for the police
department be confirmed and ratified at $208,206.00 as previously
approved.
(c) The balance of the federal grants shall be
included in the 1971 Budget of the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT: a Certified Copy of this
Resolution be filed with the State Tax Commission and be
published in full one time in the Arvada Citizen Sentinel as
required by law.
