HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution-1972-0184 Introduced by Alderman Donaldson RESOLUTION NO. 184 Series of 1972 WHEREAS, PLAN JEFF CO has asked the City Council of Wheat Ridge to support its concept of a 1/2 Cent Sales Tax for various purposes relative to the acquisition of open space; WHEREAS, the City Council has given serious considera- tion to this proposal; WHEREAS, the tax will impose unjust financial burdens on the City and invades the taxing structure necessary to operate this Government; WHEREAS, the use of the money that may ultimately be returned to the City is restricted in such a way as to deprive local representatives of our right to determine the best way to expend the local tax funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The City Council oppose this tax proposal as unjust and unfair to the City and its residents.
