HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution-1972-0195 Introduced By Alderman Joseph Donaldson RESOLUTION NO. 195 Series of 1972 WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge, has filed a claim and law suit against Leonard Turley and Stu Stuurmans, in the amount of Six Hundred Thirty-Five Dollars and Thirty-Three Cents ($635.33), which claim arises from damage to a traffic light control pole, which was struck by a semi-truck, owned by Defendants, and WHEREAS, a thorough investigation has been made with an attendant uncertainty of outcome, and WHEREAS, said pole had been damaged to some extent by other collisions prior to the collision making up this claim, and WHEREAS, said Defendants, Leonard Turley and Stu Stuurmans, through their insurance company, are willing to compromise and settle said City Claim for all damages claimed by payment of Three Hundred Seventeen Dollars a~d Fifty Cents ($317.50) to the City of Wheat Ridge, and WHEREAS, it is believed to be in the best interest of the City of Wheat Ridge, to accept said offer and compromise and settle said claim in full by acceptance of the sum of Three Hundred Seventeen Dollars and Fifty Cents ($317.50). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the proposition of settlement in the amount of $317.50, made by Defendants, Leonard Turley and Stu Stuurmans, through their insurance company, be and is hereby accepted as full settlement of the aforesaid claim and law suit.
