RESOLUTION NO. 218A
Series of 1973
TITLE: RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY
BE IT RESOLVED, That under the provisions of the Colorado
Civil Defense Act of 1950 (Chapter 24, Colorado Revised Statutes),
as amended, there be, and hereby is established a civil defense or-
ganization in and for The City of Wheat Ridge to be known as the
Wheat Ridge Civil Preparedness Agency; and that the Agency shall
perform civil defense functions in conformity with the provisions
of Article 24-1-8 of the Colorado Civil Defense Act of 1950, as
amended.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That there be appointed a Director
of the above-named Civil Preparedness Agency, as the executive
officer thereof; that the Director have direct responsibility for
the organization, administration, and operation of the Agency;
that the Director be authorized to obligate funds made available
for civil defense purposes; that the Director be authorized and
directed to accept, and comply with, all the applicable Defense
Civil Preparedness Agency regulations and standards relating to
the development of a civil defense operational capability, and the
receipt of Federal assistance in that development; that the Director
be authorized and directed to sign all documents required to obtain
Federal assistance in the development of a civil defense operational
capability; and that the Director be authorized and directed to
accept, and comply with, all of the applicable State of Colorado
Division of Emergency Services regulations and standards relating
to the development of a civil defense operational capability, and
to sign and submit all documents and materials required by the
State of Colorado Division of Emergency Services in that development.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That James O. Malone, City Treasurer,
will be responsible for the receipt and disbursement of funds made
available for civil defense purposes.
