RESOLUTION NO. 278
Series of 1974
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge has a Citizen's Task
Force on Mass Transit, and
WHEREAS, this citizen's committee is composed of nine
(9) members of which six (5) are appointed by City Council and
three (3) by the Mayor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that:
A Wheat Ridge Mass Transit Committee be established
to advise the City on needed improvements in mass transportation
in the City and to investigate solutions of the various public
transportation problems, and in coordination with the Wheat Ridge
Planning Commission, Planning Department and Planning Director
formulate plans for accomplishing the most effective means of
adequate mass transit to the citizens of Wheat Ridge. In co-
ordination with other mass transit task forces, this committee
will develop plans to bring about solutions and recommendations
to problems in the contiguous cities. In coordination with the
Planning Department, this committee will develop a plan for re-
view by the City for inclusion into a Master Plan in the matters
of traffic patterns mass transportation feasibility, developmental
policy advisement, major thoroughfare plans, and transportation
routes type designations. The committee shall appoint a chairman
and establish dates for meetings.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that:
The term of office of the Wheat Ridge Mass Transit
Committee shall be, initially, one, two, and three year terms.
Present members shall serve a three year term and new appointees
shall serve one, two, and three year terms with one term expiring
each year. All future committee members shall serve full three
year terms, one term expiring each year. When a vacancy occurs,
the Council shall appoint a replacement for the remainder of the
unexpired term.
