RESOLUTION NO. 313
Series of 1974
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge and the City of Lakewood
have expressed an interest in acquiring the property located below
~aple Grove Dam in the City of Lakewood, also known as the Bosick
Property; and
WHEREAS, this propsrty is located within the corporate
limits of the City of Lakewood but is situated on the border of the
two cities and easily accessible to the Wheat Ridge residents; and
WHEREAS, this property should be preserved from development
in the interest of the general public and is suitable for park and
recreation uses; and
W~EREAS, this parcel consists of approximately eighteen
and one-half (18~) acres of land and is eligible for purchase through
the County and City Open Space Funds; and
WHEREAS, this property has been offered for sale to the two
cities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Wheat Ridge
hereby endorses the immediate acquisition of this property by the
City of Lakewood and urges that the acquisition be accomplished as
soon as possible. The City of Wheat Ridge also urges the County
Open Space Committee and the County Board of Commissioners to give
this project priority for funding approval and the City of W~eat
Ridge hereby offers full cooperation and support in working with
both the City of Lakewood and with Jefferson County in both the
acquisition efforts and in contributing a share of the acq~isition
cost, if necessary, from the Open Space funds of the City of Wheat
Ridge.
DONE AND RESOLVED by the City Council this 30th day of
