RESOLUTION NO. 338
Series of 1974
WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge Fire Department is attempting to
secure a Class VI Fire Rating; and
WHEREAS, a Class VI Fire Rating would result in a substan-
tial savings to the residents and business establishments of the
City of Wheat Ridge; and
WHEREAS, the annual savings in fire insurance premiums are
estimated by the Fire Department to be 28% which could amount to
over $300,000 in savings per year; and
WHEREAS, one of the major factors to be considered by the
Fire Rating Board in its decision concerning a Class VI Rating is
the extent of backup manpower available in case of major fires or
other disasters; and
WHEREAS, the employees of the Public Works and Parks and
Recreation Departments are available for such service which could
greatly increase the manpower available to the Fire Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it shall be the policy
of the City of Wheat Ridge to authorize and commit the employees of
the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments to assist the
Fire Department when summoned in case of a major fire or other
disaster,
DONE AND RESOLVED this 29th day of August, A.D., 1974,
