Series of 1975
TITLE: A RESOLUTION HONORING FRANCES J. LAUE, CURTIS R. HAHN, AND
DAVID R. SHIRLEY, STUDENTS OF JEFFERSON HIGH SCHOOL, AND
RESIDENTS OF THE CITIES OF WHEAT RIDGE AND LAKEWQOD, COLO-
RADO, FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE ON THE KOA-TV,
CHANNEL 4, TELEVISION QUIZ SHOW "IT I S ACADEMIC".
WHEREAS, FRANCES J. LAUE, CURTIS R. HAHN, and DAVID R. SHIRLEY,
students of Jefferson High School, gave an outstanding performance in
representing their high school and the Jefferson County R-1 School Dis-
trict on the KOA-TV, Channel 4, television quiz show, "It's Academic"
on Saturday, January 18, 1975; and
WHEREAS, these students successfully competed with high school
quiz teams from other schools and achieved the semi-final round of com-
petition; and
WHEREAS, the personal efforts of each of these three students
set a noteworthy example for other students and the community at large
and exemplify the highest traditions of academic achievement; and
WHEREAS, the preparatory study, concentration, and ability to
perform under pressure were amply demonstrated during the course of
this competitive event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Wheat Ridge hereby publicly commends and congratulates FRANCES J.
LAUE, CURTIS R. HAHN, and DAVID R. SHIRLEY for their outstanding team
efforts during this event, and wishes them continued success in their
scholastic work in the future and in their chosen careers in later life.
