RESOLUTION NO. 387
Series of 1975
WHEREAS, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the
taxpayers and employees of the City of Wheat Ridge to provide for the
retirement of employees under certain terms and conditions; and
W,EREAS, the Colorado Statutes provide for the adoption of a
retirement plan or system by a group of counties; and permit municipal-
ities to join such a plan; and
WHEREAS, the advantage of joining together with several other
counties, districts, and municipalities in Colorado to adopt a retire-
ment system for county, district, and municipal employees is to lower
individual costs and thereby save tax money and employees' money;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. The Council of the City of Wheat Ridge hereby elects to become
a part of the Colorado County Officials and Employees Retirement Associ-
ation under the following terms and conditions:
a. Said association submit any Plan to be adopted to the
Council for approval.
b. If approval not given, the employees of the City of Wheat
Ridge will not be covered.
c. If approval is given and employees of the City of Wheat
Ridge are covered, the Council of the City of Wheat Ridge or their
designated representative be given authority to determine matters
affecting the employees of the City of Wheat Ridge as related to
the Retirement Plan.
d. If approval is given, this plan shall not apply to nor
include firemen or policemen.
2. The Council of the City of Wheat Ridge hereby appropriates the
sum of $2.00 per employee enrolled payable to the Colorado County Offi-
cials and Employees Retirement Association for administrative expenses
of enrolling eligible City employees in the Association Retirement Plan
and hereby authorizes the disbursement of prescribed yearly administra-
tive costs as required by the Association Plan for the City's enrolled
employees.
3. The Council of the City of Wheat Ridge hereby designates
James Malone as their official representative to the
Colorado County Officials and Employees Retirement Association.
4. The Council of the City of Wheat Ridge certifies that as of
the date of this Resolution they have 45 eligible employees.
