A RESOLUTION ASSERTING THE CONCURRENCE OF THE CITY OF ~HEAT RIDGE
WITH THE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT'S (RTD) AMENDED AND RESTATED
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION PLAN
WHEREAS, the staff of the ReGional Transportation District h?s
conducted an extensive study of alternative public transportation
systems and technologies for the region called the Alternatives Analysis
Study; and
WHEREAS, the RTD staff made a presentation to the Wheat Ridge
City Council on May 15, 1975, concerning the results of the Alternatives
Analysis Study, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the various reports and
recommendations and as a result thereof, has formulated its own
findings; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Wheat Ridge believes the Regional
Transportation District's Public Transportation Plan is a vital component
of a comprehensive approach to preserving and enhancing the quality
of life in the region; and is complementary to regional land use
policy and development goals for the year 2000, which have been
adopted by local elected officials and the Joint Regional Planning Program;
and provides a high quality, integrated multi-modal public transit
system for the region; and provides a positive and workable solution
to the transportation needs of the City of Wheat Ridge; and
WHEREAS, the RTD staff has recommended an Amended and Restated
Public Transportation Plan for the region to the RTD Board of Directors,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Wheat Ridge, Colorado:
1. That the City of Wheat Ridge is in concurrence with RTD's
proposed Amended and Restated Public Transportation Plan for
the Denver Region.
2. That the City of Wheat Ridge supports the adoption of
the proposed Plan by the RTD Board of Directors and the Denver
Regional Council of Governments.
