TITLE: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE
CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE TO CONTRACT ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE FOR THE CREATION,
ADMINISTRATION AND USE OF THE CENTRAL ANIMAL
SHELTER
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the
City of Wheat Ridge to participate with the County of
Jefferson, City of Arvada and City of Lakewood in the
expanslon, organization, administration and common use of
a central animal shelter; and
WHEREAS, the County of Jefferson presently has
an existing animal shelter and land and is agreeable to
entering into a thirty-five (35) year lease of that land
and facilities to the City of Arvada, City of Lakewood,
and City of Wheat Ridge jointly for the purpose of a common
animal shelter; and
WHEREAS, a document hereinafter referred to as
"agreement" is attached hereto and incorporated herein as
though fully set forth, has been prep~red.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUN:IL
of the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado:
Section l. That the terms and conditions of the
agreement attached hereto are hereby approved.
Section 2. That the expenditure of $41,628.75 as
the City of Wheat Ridge's contribution to capital cost is
hereby authorized, subject to approval of the 1976 budget
appropriations.
Section 3. That the city expresses its intent and
purpose to participate in said Agreement.

Section 4. That the mayor of the City of
Wheat Ridge is hereby authorized to sign said Agreement
on behalf of the City of Wheat Ridge.
