TITLE: RESOLUTION GRANTING THE MAYOR OF WHEAT RIDGE
AUTHORITY TO EXECUTE THE INTER-GOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITIES OF WHEAT RIDGE,
COLORADO, ARVADA, COLORADO, LAKEWOOD, COLORADO,
AND THE COUNTY OF JEFFERSON, STATE OF COLORADO,
AND THE NON - PROF IT CORPORATION KNOWN AS THE
JEFFERSON ANIMAL SHELTER, INC., GIVING THE MAYOR
OF WHEAT RIDGE AUTHORITY TO MAKE Tim REQUIRED
EXPENDITURES UNDER SAID AGREEMENT AND GIVING TO
THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO, THROUGH ITS
CITY ADMINISTRATOR, JOHN JERMAN, AUTHORITY TO
ENTER INTO ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION AND BY-LAWS
ESTABLISHING THE JEFFERSON ANIMAL SHELTER, INC.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 30-11-l07(l) C.R.S. 1973,
as amended, the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado is delegated
the power to enter into agreements for the joint use and
occupation of public buildings; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge is desirous of utilizing
the facilities presently existing in Jefferson County as an
animal shelter; and
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interests of all of the
above named entities to participate in the expansion, organi-
zation, administration and common use of a central animal
facili ty.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Counci 1 of the
City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, that the City Administrator has
the authority on behalf of the City of Wheat Ridge to enter
into and to execute the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws
establishing the non-profit corporation known as the Jefferson
Animal Shelter, Incorporated, and
BE IT FURTlmR RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of
Wheat Ridge has the authority to execute and to enter into on
behalf of the City of Wheat Ridge, the Inter-Governmental
Agreement between the cities of Arvada, Colorado, Lakewood,
Colorado, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and the County of Jefferson,
Colorado, and the non-profit corporation known as the Jefferson
Animal Shelter, Inc.; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of
Wheat Ridge has the authority to expend, under the terms of
the Inter-Governmental Agreement, the sum of $4l,628.75 as
the capital contribution of the City of Wheat Ridge to the
establishment of the Animal Shelter facilities; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Wheat Ridge,
Colorado shall annually budget such funds as are necessary
under the Inter-Governmental Agreement to provide Wheat Ridge's
share of annual operating costs for the maintenance of the
Animal Shelter.
