RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE WHEAT RIDGE FIRE PROTECrION DISTRICT FOR ITS
EFFORTS IN SECURING A MORE FAVORABLE FIRE RATING CLASSIFICATION FOR
THE DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Insurance Services Office of Colorado has
completed a detailed analysis of public fire protection facilities
available within the limits of the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District
of Colorado; and
WHEREAS, the survey indicates that the Wheat Ridge Fire
Protection District is eligible for an improved classification for fire
insurance rating purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Insurance Services Office of Colorado has
recommended a change in fire rating classification from Class 7 to
Class 6 which will have a favorable effect upon the fire insurance rates
for properties located within the District estimated at one percent (1%)
to five percent (5%), depending upon the type of building construction
with resulting cash savings to property owners, effective beginning
March 29, 1976.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Wheat Ridge that the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District of
Colorado be hereby commended for its organization, operations, manpower,
and basic equipment, all of which have contributed toward this favorable
decision by the Insurance Services Office of Colorado.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection
District is hereby publicly recognized as one of the top all-volunteer
fire protection organizations in the State of Colorado as evidenced
by the results of the aforementioned survey.
