TITLE: RESOLUTION OFFICIALLY REQ~ESTING THE JEFFERSON COUNTY OPEN
SPACE COMMITTEE TO SECURE A QUALIFIED APPRAISAL OF PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 7490 West 29th Avenue PROPOSED FOR PURCHASE
UNDER THE COUNTY-WIDE OPEN SPACE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge has funds available to it
from the one-half cent (Y2~) sales tax approved by the voters of Jef-
ferson County for the acquisition of Park and Open Space areas; and
WHEREAS, the City has adopted the Parks and Open Space Plan
w~ich provides for a Park and Open Space area at this location; and
WHEREAS, ALECK PETERSON, the owner of this property located
at 7490 West 29th Avenue, has stated that he is willing to sell the
property to the City, and the City is interested in acquiring this
parcel consisting of approximately two (2) acres; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to use this property for Open Space
purposes to provide access from West 29th Avenue to other properties
owned by the City in this location;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Wheat Ridge that the Jefferson County Open Space Committee is hereby
requested to secure a qualified professional appraisal to determine
the value of the Aleck Peterson property located at 7490 W. 29th Ave.
as soon as possible; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the appraisal should indicate the
value of the ground as distinguished from any improvements which are
constructed thereon; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Open Space Committee be informed
of the urgency of this matter due to impending use of the adjacent
properties owned by the City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed
to send a copy of this Resolution to all members of the Jefferson
County Open Space Committee, memjers of the Board of County Commission-
ers of Jefferson County, and the Open Space Director.
