TITLE: RESOLUTION HONORING THE DISTRIBUTIVE EDUCATION CLUB OF JEFFERSON
SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL FOR ITS DESIGNATION AS THE CHAPTER OF THE YEAR
FOR 1977 IN THE STATE OF COLORADO
WHEREAS, the Distributive Education Club of Jefferson Senior
High School has been recognized as the Chapter of the Year for 1977 for
the State of Colorado by the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA);
and
WHEREAS, this award was presented on March 1, 1977, at Colorado
Springs during the 28th Annual Colorado State DECA Convention; and
WHEREAS, the DECA Chapter at Jefferson Senior High School is
the only Chapter to win this award three times, the first award in 1969,
the second award in 1972, and the third award in 1977, and is the only
High School Chapter to be so honored three times; and
WHEREAS, the DECA program award is based on a combination of
activities and programs developed in close cooperation with the community,
civic groups, and citizens which stress the highest principles of commer-
cial education and free enterprise;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Wheat Ridge that the DISTRIBUTIVE EDUCATION CLUB OF JEFFERSON SENIOR
HIGH SCHOOL be hereby commended and publicly honored for its record of
achievement in the DECA program, and for the efforts of its individual
students in bringing recognition to Jefferson Senior High School and to
Wheat Ridge and surrounding communities through this program.
