Series of 1977
TITLE: RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE PAVING OF ROADS AND PARKING
AREAS LOCATED IN PROSPECT PARK AND TRANSFERRING SUCH FUNDS FROM
OTHER PROJECTS LISTED IN THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET DOCUMENT
FOR 1977.
WHEREAS, there is in effect a Capital Improvements Fund Appropriation
Resolution for 1977; and
WHEREAS, such appropriation includes the sum of $64,500 in Account
No. 31-504-862-3 for the construction of greenbelt trails, bridges, and
underpass under Kipling Street at Clear Creek; and
WHEREAS, these named projects may be eligible for financial assist-
ance through State and Federal sources, which assistance is not anticipated
to be available until sometime in 1978; and
WHEREAS, these named projects are not yet engineered or designed,
and, therefore, cannot be completed within the 1977 fiscal year and should
be considered in the 1978 Budget as carryover projects to coincide with the
projected availability of matching funds; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to substitute urgent road paving and
parking lot paving projects in Prospect Park for the above named budgeted
projects this year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the purposes as budgeted in
Account No. 31-504-862-3 be expanded to include the resurfacing of roadways
and parking areas in Prospect Park pursuant to the Prospect Park develop-
ment plan; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the staff be hereby authorized to
negotiate an extension of contract with Asphalt Paving Company, the City's
1977 street paving contractor, for the Prospect Park pavement work; or,
to prepare new specifications for competitive bidding if an extension con-
tract cannot be satisfactorily negotiated with Asphalt Paving Company.
BE IT RESOLVED that these changes will not change the Capital
Improvements Fund Appropriation on file with the Division of Local Govern-
ment.
