TITLE:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACTUAL
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE AND THE
COLORADO STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A FRONTAGE ROAD ON STATE PROPERTY
CONNECTING AT WEST 48TH AVENUE AND OTIS STREET.
WHEREAS, the State desires to construct a frontage
road on State property in the southeast quadrant of the 176/1
70/Wadsworth Boulevard interchange, said frontage road connecting
at at West 48th Avenue and Otis Street; and
WHEREAS, this frontage road will include a hiker/bicycle
path contiguous to the frontage road along the frontage road
length, to assist the public in obtaining access to the Clear
Creek Trail, said frontage road and hiker/bicycle path, hereinafter
referred to as "frontage road;" and
WHEREAS, the City has been presented with a contractual
document prepared by the Colorado Department of Highways under
which Federal grant funds will be allocated to the City for this
project; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to have these improvements
constructed at this location in accordance with the provisions
of the contractual agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing to provide maintenance
and policing of the frontage road;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Wheat Ridge that this project is hereby approved and
hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute the agreement.
