HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution-1979-0640 INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER FLASCO RESOLUTION NO. 640 Series of 1979 TITLE: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE ACQUISITION OF A PORTION OF THE RANCHO DEL SOL, LTD. PROPERTY LOCATED AT W. 32ND AVENUE AND UN ION STREET IN WHEAT RIDGE FOR PARKS AND OPEN SPACE PURPOSES UNDER THE JEFFERSON COUNTY OPEN SPACE PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the City is interested in the acquisition of a portion of the property located at W. 32nd Avenue and Union Street for Parks and Open Space purposes, and WHEREAS, the owner, Rancho del Sol, Ltd., has previously offered 11.6 acres of this 23 acre parcel to the City at a total price of $203,237, and WHEREAS, the City has been presented with an alternate proposal of 8.75 acres of this land for sale to the City by Rancho del Sol, Ltd., which would include all of the existing 100-year flood plan area, Lena Gulch channel, plus a small parcel bordering Union Street, and WHEREAS, it will be necessary to negotiate a fair and equitable price with Rancho del Sol, Ltd. based on qualified appraisals for that portion offered to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge, that the Jefferson County Open Space, through its Executive Director, be authorized and directed to negotiate with Rancho del Sol, Ltd., the property owner, for the purchase of 8.75 acres of land indicated above at W. 32nd Avenue and Union Street in Wheat Ridge, for Parks and Open Space purposes for acquisition under the Jefferson County Open Space Program and that funds for such purchase be taken from Wheat Ridge's attributable share of the Open Space Fund, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City hereby authorizes additional appraisal reports and services as necessary to satisfactorily conclude this purchase with such costs to be charged to Wheat Ridge's attributable share of the Jefferson County Open Space Fund.
