TITLE; RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CONSOLIDATED MUTUAL WATER COMPANY REQUEST FOR
VARIANCE ON SECURITY FENCE
WHEREAS, a flood emergency occurred March 17 and 18, 1979, involving
vandalism to the spillway mechanisms and the inflated Fabridam spanning a
portion of the spillway of Maple Grove Reservoir, and
WHEREAS, such flow and release of water caused flooding, erosion
and damage to property of citizens and City streets and culverts, and
WHEREAS, the State Engineer's Office of the Department of Natural
Resources has required Consolidated Mutual Water Company to increase security
by the erection of a security fence including barbed wire top strands and
other means of deterrent to trespassers, and
WHEREAS, any incremental increase in security contributes to the health,
safety and welfare and peace of mind of the citizens of Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Wheat Ridge, that support be given to the efforts of Consolidated Mutual
Water Company in its request before the City of Lakewood Board of Adjustment
in the granting of a variance to permit erection of a security fence at Maple
Grove Fabridam and Reservoir, including spillway and control room areas and
other devices.
DONE AND RESOLVED this 16th day of July, 1979, by a vote of 6
