RESOLUTION NO. 672

TITLE: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE ACQUISITION OF THE
SCHAEFER PLANNED RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT PROPERTY LOCATED AT
WEST 35TH AVENUE AND PARFET STREET IN WHEAT RIDGE FOR PARKS AND
OPEN SPACE PURPOSES UNDER THE JEFFERSON COUNTY OPEN SPACE
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, The City is interested in the acquisition of a portion of
the property located at West 35th Avenue and Parfet Street for Parks and Open
Space purposes, and
WHEREAS, The City desires to investigate the value of this property
and to consider acquisition of the property under the Jefferson County Open
Space Program;
WHEREAS, it will be necessary to negotiate a fair and equitable price
with the property owner based on qualified appraisals for that portion offered
to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Wheat Ridge, that the Jefferson County Open Space officials be hereby authorized
and requested to secure a professional appraisal on the Schaefer property as
referenced in this Resolution, to (1) determine its market value; or (2) cost of
a scenic easement or development rights.
DONE AND RESOLVED by a vote of 5 to 2 on this 17th day of
December, 1979.
