HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution-1980-0681 INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER MERKL RESOLUTION NO. 681 Series of 1080 TITLE: A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE INTENT OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE TO MAINTAIN A POLICE PENSION PLAN INDEPENDENT OF THE FIRE AND POLICE PENSION ASSOCIATION CREATED BY SENATE BILL 79. WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge has maintained a police pension plan since 1970; and WHEREAS, this plan is actuarially sound and benefits are fully funded according to accepted actuarial standards; and WHEREAS, the members of said plan have expressed their desire to maintain a separate plan administered by the Police Pension Board of this city; and WHEREAS, the members of the Police Pension Board of this city are capable of administering the Police Pension Plan for the City of Wheat Ridge. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Wheat Ridge shall continue to maintain its own Police Pension Plan administered by the Police Pension Board of the City of Wheat Ridge, and the City Treasurer is hereby directed to deposit all contributions to said plan into the City of Wheat Ridge Police Pension Fund. Further, the Fire and Police Pension Association is hereby requested to refund to the City of Wheat Ridge Police Pension Fund all contributions which have been forwarded to them by the City of Wheat Ridge since January 1, 1980.
