TITLE: RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A CITYjOW'BER OF COMl'IIEK:E COORDll;jATION
COJI1MITI'EE FDR THE PURD()8r:; OF IMProVING Ca'!['WICATIONS, UNDERSTANDING,
AND COORDINATION \:lITH RESPECT TO t1A'ITERS OF MUTUAL CONCERN
.'HEREAS, the City desires to \\OrK coO]::.eratively and rrore effectively

overall developrrent and econOIl'ic progress; and
h'HEREAS, the ,'itleat Pidc;e Chanber of Comrrerce is currently engaged in
rrB.11y activities which are directed toward the improverrent of the econoJ1"ic health
of the City; and
vJHERE1"S, it is in the interest of the taxpayers that the efforts of the
City and the ,'Jheat Ridge Charrber of Comrerce be coordinated for the betterrrent
of the City;
NOd, THEPEFDRE, BE IT PESOLVED by the City Council of the City of v.heat
Ridge that a City-Chanber of ColTIl"l2rce Coordination COImlittee be continued; and
BE IT FURI'HEE RESOLVED that the functions and duties of the Cormuttee
shall include cooj::.erati ve efforts in the implerrentation of the adopted Compre-
hensive Plan, liaison to the business comnunity, joint efforts in preparing
conceptml ideas for the City's developr:ent, efforts to prorrote better mutual
understanding of activities; shall be directed toward the upgrading of the
Comrercial and Industrial Districts 'Ni th sj::.ecial attention to improver:ent of
apj::.earance, reduction of vacancies, improverrent of air quality and econoruc
stability; and other related subjects; and
BE IT FUETHER RESOLVED that the rrerrbership of the Ci ty-Chanber of
Comrerce Coordination Co1W1ittee shall consist of one (1) nerrber of t..l1e City
Council selected by the tlByor, three (3) rrerl:Jers of the Char:ber of Corrrrerce,
,vho reside within the City of \'Jheat Ridge and who are selected by the Board of
Directors of the Chanber of Comrrerce, one (1) rrect::.er of the PlarminC! COr.!"ission
of the City selected by its C11airnan, four (4) interested citizens of jr.7heat
Ridge, one froIl' each District, who are not r.-embers of the Chariber of Comnerce,
and two (2) ex-officio members without vote who shall be the Executive Director
of the Chanber of Comrerce and Director of COTIl'lUIlity Developrrent. An alternate
shall be narred for each of the City Council and Plarming Commission positions
,vho shall attend in the absence of the regular representative; and
BE IT FURI'HER RESOLVED that the City-Chamber of Comrerce Coordination
Commi ttee shall be convened by the City Council rrenber acting as a terrporary
chairrran no later than thirty (30) days following the date of adoption of this
t€solution, and shall tiEreup:m elect its own chainre.n from its r:er:bers, and
shall establish regular rreeting dates which shall be open to the public;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this COIffilittee will exist for a j::.eriod of
tine coinciding with the two (2) year tern of each City Council and shall be
subject to review for continumce within the first thirty (3) days of each new
City Council.
