RESOLUTION NO. 784

TITLE: RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF JEFFCO ACTION CENTER WALKATHON
WHEREAS, May 1, 1982, has been designated by the Jeffco
Action Center for its annual Walkathon for the purpose of fund
raising; and
WHEREAS, the Jeffco Action Center has been a valuable aid
to the City of Wheat Ridge, assisting people of all ages by pro-
viding food, clothing, financial assistance for rent/utilities,
household supplies, furniture, employment and Social Security
counseling as well as Meals on Wheels to the elderly and handicapped
and the Santa Shop for needy children; and
WHEREAS, the Jeffco Action Center is entirely a non-profit
volunteer agency dedicated to helping others without Federal
Funding or red tape.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO:
That the City Council of Wheat Ridge recognizes the
beneficial impact of the Jeffco Action Center on the community and
its citizens and urges support of the Jeffco Action Center Walkathon
by the residents of Wheat Ridge, the City Council and the entire
county.
DONE AND RESOLVED this 26th day of April, 1982.
